Amoxicillin & Clavulanate Oral Suspension Dispenser – Infants

Pediatric Dosing Information

The current Prescribing Information (PI), for the administration of amoxicillin and clavulanate oral suspension (125/5mL), for neonates and infants aged <12 weeks (<3 Months) recites; a recommended daily dosage of 30 mg/kg/day equally divided into 15 mg/kg doses every 12 hours of the oral suspension.1

Conversely, the PI does not describe the extrapolation of 15.0 mg/kg (12%) from the 125mg – 5 mL suspension required for the subsequent conversion to an individual kilogram patient dose as prescribed.

The Dose-Weight Syringe® is designed to offer enhanced visual indicia for small mass patients. The enhanced calibrations enable ultra-precise lower dose increments of 3.75 mg per .25 kg of body weight.

The Dose-Weight Syringe® additionally offers drug potency indicia in mg or mL, thus offering double verification through-out the preparation and administration process.
